RHEL 5? Ubuntu 8.04? Windows XP?! Vista?!! 7?!!!

Arghh. A very upsetting week for me and it's not even the end of the week yet. Trying to configure the server for my present project. Still not fully configured yet. Need to be fully configured and up and running by Monday. Dammit!

Originally wanted to use Ubuntu OS because of the project team's familiarity with it but nooo. The management always want to have the final say. "No, no, no. We already have purchased the license for RHEL 5 so you lot have to use that.". Because we are using RHEL 5, which we are not familiar with, we had to reformat the server 3 times already!!! It would be much simpler if we used the OS that WE, as the developers and poor souls who are EXPECTED to 'know' how to configure a server, are familiar with. Makes things easier if you ask me. So here I am, with the team figuring out, scathing our heads thinking what the heck am I suppose to configure next?

For 3 days straight the team went home after midnight. All because of that damned server.

Monday => 2.00 am
Tuesday => 3.00 am
Wednesday => 4.00 am

Analyzing our past timetable would suggest that today we are going back home at 5 in the morning!! Not a chance mate!! I'll be trying to persuade the guys to go back early for once this week because I just can't take it anymore!!! warghhhh!!!!

Web 2.0? uikk..Web 3.0 dah?? ngaaa...

That's the downside of being in the IT industry. When you thought you have been keeping up with the current technology the next thing you hear from someone is "Web 2.0? We are now going to 3.0 man. Where have you been??". Everybody now is talking about Web 3.0. Talking about Semantics search and all the other stuff that a Web 3.0 compliant website should have. I have not even grasped entirely on the Web 2.0 thingy yet. I am trying to, but with all the work that's coming my way just don't have the time. More over with the non-existent internet at casa de la big bro, I just can't do any surfing at home. Trying to change that but still waiting for P1 W1max to be available at Jalan Jelatek!!!! Streamix is not even an option and those small broadband modems can go f**k themselves. tried my brother's broadband modem at home and it did not even have 3 bars full and the speed was craaapppppppp. The reason I want to use P1W1max is that my office uses P1W1max and the speed is better than Streamix. I know, I know some Streamix fanatics will say that's because P1 doesn't have the number of customers that streamix has. That's why it is faster, just wait when there are a lot of P1 customers. Well, there is truth to that, but, but P1 doesn't limit your bandwidth like streamix does. So for a download maniac like me, Please P1, be available on Jalan Jelatek and Jalan Setiawangsa!!!
